Two Oklahoma Men Accused of Running 25,000-Dollar Retail Theft Ring Face Multiple Felony Complaints

The arrests followed a six-week investigation by Oklahoma City police.

Investigators identified Daniel Albertson and Richard Dalton as key suspects in the case.

Police describe the operation as an organized retail theft ring.

The ring was allegedly responsible for stealing about $25,000 worth of merchandise.

Major stores across the metro area were targeted.

The locations included Best Buy and Home Depot.

Lowe’s and Walmart were also hit.

The pair also targeted Academy Sports, according to police.

Investigators said the suspects mainly stole power tools.

They also targeted other expensive items.

Police said the stolen goods were easy to carry.

The items were also selected because they could be quickly resold.

Dalton allegedly handled most of the actual thefts inside the businesses.

Albertson served as the getaway driver, according to investigators.

And authorities allege the stolen items were then sold to third parties.

The buyers allegedly knew the merchandise was stolen.

Investigators said several pieces of evidence helped identify both suspects.

Store surveillance footage captured images of the men.

Visible tattoos helped investigators verify their identities.

Prior mugshots also aided the identification process.

A vehicle tag number further connected them to the scheme.

Police ultimately recovered about $8,000 worth of property.

Then both men were booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center.

They face multiple felony complaints.

Those complaints include organized retail crime.

They also include conspiracy.

Yet police believe more people were involved in the theft ring.

Additional arrests are expected, according to police.

Albertson and Dalton are accused, not convicted.

The charges are allegations and have not been proven in court.
